Performancing passes Metrics to PayPerPost
It wasn't the first time that I couldn't locate the Metrics link in my Performancing account, but this time it wasn't coming back. Performancing.com started 2007 with a couple of announcements that will introduce sweeping changes to their offering of services. Gone is the popular free blog traffic analysis tool Metrics, having just been acquired by PayPerPost. The official word is that Metrics will become an open source project.
I never really explored Performancing's other services, but I valued Metrics as a reliable source of aggregated blog stats data. I loved that I could hook up all my blogs to my Metrics account and review the stats from one unified control panel. I hope that Metrics can recover as a viable project when the dust settles!
In the meantime, I'm getting my stats through FeedBurner's new StandardStats service.
