Zend Framework book in the works

Manning Publishing, the folks behind the "In Action" series of technical books, will soon publish Zend Framework In Action by Rob Allen and Nick Lo. While the book isn't due out until next spring, the first chapter has already been made available as a PDF. You can download this chapter for free here.

Framework echoes

Here are a few recent PHP framework-related posts that I have found interesting:

CodeIgniter vs. CakePHP by Jonathan Snook (PHPers just love a good showdown!)
David Rasch on why he ditched the Zend Framework
Using Zend Framework Components in CodeIgniter by Dan Freak (Oh, to have "Freak" for a last name!)

Code reuse: frameworks and classes

There's an interesting new post available over at PHPClasses.org where site founder Manuel Lemos discusses the Zend Framework, PHP5 adoption rates and code reuse. The title of the post is a little misleading: Recommended PHP Frameworks. While Lemos does reference the Zend Framework as well as binarycloud, he goes on to explain that he prefers […]
