Mambo core developers leaving Miro behind
This news took a couple of days to reach me: The core developers of the Mambo content management system have had a philosophical split with Miro, the Australian founding company behind Mambo. Specifically problematic, was the formation of the Mambo Foundation, and the refusal of Miro to transfer copyright to the Mambo Foundation.
Mambo's core developers will re-brand Mambo under a new name. You can stay updated on these developments by visiting opensourcematters.org.
John Cox posted some comments regarding the validity of this apparent fork (in light of certain non-GPL'd items included in Mambo, such as licensed icons) on his blog, wyome.com.
