The original BeebleX search plugins

Last night before going to bed, I cracked open my shiny new issue of php | architect and began reading an article about the development of BeebleX. It was only then that I discovered that BeebleX had already released it's own Firefox search plugin. It works differently from a standard search plugin, in that it has a "Google passthrough" feature, described as:

"…our Google passthrough feature allows you to use BeebleX as your primary search engine and bypass directly to Google by prefixing your query with g: or to Google Groups by prefixing your query with gg:."

Cool! You can install the plugin from the BeebleX FAQ page.

There's also another BeebleX Firefox search plugin by Francesco Fullone that was released a month ago. I'm unable to read Fullone's blog entry about his plugin (I believe it's written in Italian), but looking at the code of the plugin, I suspect that it offers the same functionality as the one I released on Tuesday (mine is also available at the Mycroft site).

So there you have it: so much choice when it comes to BeebleX search plugins!
